CHAIRMAN'S CHAT
Term 1 2009

We had a good Annual Meeting. 30 present, which is a big increase on the last couple of years.

As our Treasurer reported we have been fortunate to receive some grants which enabled us to make improvements to our classroom equipment and also to keep our course fees to a very reasonable level.

Our classroom is looking great with the new 19"LCD monitors and they are certainly easier on the eyes.

We are now going further.

On the payment of the $20 annual membership fee new (and old) members will be able to take the 6 week introductory course without further charge.

This course is an excellent introduction to how a computer works and teaches skills with the keyboard and mouse and includes a session on Windows Word.

It is suitable for those with Windows XP or Vista and provides a launching pad for those who wish to go further with word processing, using e mails, and other computer skills.

See the details of term 2 courses included with this newsletter. Information about short workshops on specific topics will be e mailed to members as they become available.

Would you like a workshop on some aspect of computing? Please let me know.
